The history of the Servin name dates as far back as 1654. Nearly every member of the family was involved in wine in some fashion, from coopers to winegrowers. Though our clients are familiar with the Servin name, it is one of the overlooked domaines in Chablis that deserves more recognition. The Blanchot comes from a .92 hectare sustainably farmed parcel with vines averaging 45 years old, only replanted with massale selection. The Blanchot is hand-harvested, and the signature of the Domaine for this cuvee is a long elevage on the lees with no oak, which is not usual for grand cru Chablis. Typically an elegant and generous wine that is one of the few grand crus that can be approached earlier. The Blanchot is an excellent grand cru Chablis that doesn't need years in the cellar to integrate but can if desired and is a gorgeous representation of Domaine Servin that fans of Chablis will love.
Antonio Galloni 94 points! "The 2017 Chablis Blanchot Grand Cru is vivid, open-knit and super-appealing. Sweet floral and citrus notes lend energy, but it is the wine's nuance and persistence that make the strongest first impression. Even so, the 2017 appears to be holding back much of its potential today. The wine's translucent personality and overall feel. I very much like the tension, energy and savoriness here."
