Now ran by great-granddaughter Emilie and her Husband Benoit Riffault, this duo carries the torch of this famed Domaine. With some of the best vineyard holdings in the Cote de Beaune, they are among the top white Burgundy producers today. Their Bourgogne Blanc is a great value and will sometimes see some higher-end grapes declassified into the mix but mostly from four distinct parcels. This is easily village level quality and one of the best Bourgogne Blancs we have tried from the '17 vintage. Compared to other producers like Coche Dury, Roulot, and Leflaive, this is a heck of a buy and honestly right there with those producers quality for much less. A stunning Bourgogne Blanc that is a must for the White Burgundy drinker.
Tasting Note by John Gilman "The 2017 Bourgogne Blanc from Domaine Sauzet is really a fine example of its level, offering up a bright and really quite complex bouquet of apple, white peach, a touch of orange peel, chalky soil tones and white flowers. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and nicely plump on the attack, with a fine core, good acids and lovely length and grip on the energetic finish. Good juice."
