We have been mining thru supplier lists and found this great deal in white Burgundy. As many of you know the 2017 white Burgundy vintage was a very good one. Francois, and his brother Jacques split the domaine holdings about 10 years ago, and now both make wine on their own. Francois was the vineyard manager when him and his brother worked together, so needless to say he knows you can’t make great wine without great fruit. He also works sustainably in all his vineyards. His Bourgogne Blanc comes from a nice parcel out side of village Puligny Montrachet. This is made just like Francois other wines just sees mostly older oak barrels, and some is left in tank. The wine is spot on and delivers exceptional quality for the price. Some nice press below for this wine as well from Burghound, and the Wine Advocate.
This is white Burgundy deal that you will not likely see again anytime soon.
Wine Advocate (William Kelley) Carillon's 2017 Bourgogne Chardonnay bursts with scents of pastry cream, ripe lemons and white flowers. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and succulent, with a rich but nicely defined profile. This is a gourmand, generous Bourgogne that will drink well in its youth.
Burghound “Outstanding top value! Notes of petrol, pear and apple introduce the nicely dense, vibrant and super-fresh flavors that possess slightly better depth and persistence if, somewhat surprisingly, not quite the same refinement. Even so, this too is quite good for its level and a wine that would make a good all-around house white.
