EFW!- La Chablisienne accounts for a quarter of Chablis total production. Working with growers in the region that don't have the ability or desire to vinify or bottle their own wine, La Chablisienne purchases their fruit. The growers follow a selection of rules to make sure the grapes they grow are of the best quality possible. La Chablisienne has been a central part of Chablis since 1923 and has helped the region come together offering wines at a tremendous value. Vaulorent is the only Premier Cru vineyard located on the same hill as the Grand Cru vineyards. Bordered by Preuses and Bourgros with similar soil compositions Vaulorent is one of the best Premier Cru vineyards in Chablis and can at times be reminiscent of Preuses.
Allen Meadows 90-93 points! "Much more discreet wood more easily allows the cool floral, tidal pool and mineral reduction-suffused aromas to be appreciated. The sleek, energetic and attractively textured medium weight flavors possess a classy mouth feel that continues onto the saline, focused and rich finish. Good stuff that should age well."
Wine Advocate (William Kelley) 91-93 points! "Much more classic in profile than its 2016 counterpart, the 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Vaulorent bursts with notes of lemon oil, white flowers and crisp peach. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, glossy and concentrated, with notable power and a long, saline finish. It's one of the highlights of the range."
