2017 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Theurons

$39.99
2017 Louis Jadot Beaune 1er Cru Theurons
The premier Crus from Jadot are excellent, and those from Beaune rank among some of the best deals in Burgundy for the premier cru level. We have another great one today from the lovely 2017, which is a follow-up to our offer of the Clos des Couchereaux we offered a few days back. Like our previous offer, the Theurons is also made from Domaine-owned vines and tended by Jadot, which is why it is one of the best Crus of the range.
Les Theurons is a large vineyard located below Greves, and Jadot owns four parcels that they blend: two to the north and two to the south, giving it a complete expression of the vineyard. This site typically shows beautiful red fruits and lovely mineral-driven component and is showing well now after six years in the bottle. 2017 is overall a lovely vintage for red Burgundy, and these wines have a bit more classic character to them with a great dynamic between elegance and ripeness.
We have excellent pricing here today, far below the going rate for this wine, and it is a beautiful value for Back vintage premier cru red Burgundy. We have a limited amount, and these will go quickly, so don't miss out!

James Suckling 93 points! "Shows a little more ripeness than some of the other sites in Beaune with ripe strawberries and flowers. Medium to full body, tight and firm structure and a clean and bright finish. Drink after 2022."

Vinous (Neil Martin) 91-93 points! "The 2017 Beaune Les Theurons 1er Cru has a fleshy, ripe red cherry, raspberry and light tea leaf bouquet that unfurls nicely in the glass. The palate is showing a little more oak than its Beaune peers at the moment, although there is more substance and a touch more complexity, hints of black pepper and a tang of marmalade popping up on the finish. Excellent. (Drink between 2020-2030)"
