EFW! -This isn’t something we offer very often so when we do it has to be spot on in price and quality which is certainly the case here. We just tasted this yesterday and we’re very impressed by the composure of this wine. Te Awanga was created by Rod McDonald in 1994. In his pursuit to make wine for a living, he packed up everything he had and landed in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. The 'Mister' Sauvignon Blanc is from a higher elevation vineyard that is very slow to ripen due to its cool climate lending a great deal of complexity in the wine. Excellent expression here with stone fruits, melon, lime zest, and very precise minerality, and acidity with a glossy texture. While it does show typicity of the terrior there's no green character and drinks with a nod to Sancerre. This is serious juice for the price and conforms to the current weather; the perfect complement to soaking up the sun. We are the only ones in the US with access to this wine right now and so it is an honor to give our customers one of the fist opportunities to try this fantastic Sauvignon Blanc.
