This is Vincent and Sophie Morey's only cru from Puligny-Montrachet from family vines planted in 1951 and '86. A rare bottling only making it to the US in limited quantities Truffiere is one of the domaines standouts. Like all the VS Morey wines, this is classicly structured White Burgundy with an excellent balance between ripe fruits and minerality. A bottle to pop in the cellar, and as noted below by Allen Meadows, this has substantial cellar potential and should effortlessly age for ten years. We have a very limited amount available, so please act quickly!
Allen Meadows 91 points! "Subtle wood toast sets off the ripe and relatively airy aromas of acacia blossom, citrus zest and poached pear. The sleek, delicious and once again nicely delineated medium weight flavors brim with both minerality and sappy dry extract while offers very fine length on the balanced finale. This is already reasonably complex but if more depth develops with age my rating could well be overly conservative."
