This is the first time we have ever been able to offer Ceritas, which is typically a restaurant and list only wine. Ceritas is, in our eyes is like Arnot Roberts in style, with their European influences with more draw towards the old world of wine. Naturally, this is a style that many of our clients gravitate towards, and so do we. Ceritas practices incredible attention to detail in the vineyards and a minimalist style in the cellar to get the most expression out of the vineyard and the vintage. 'Costalina' is a blend of barrels selected from some incredible vineyards that saw some whole cluster fermentation; Hellenthal, Elliott, and Porter-Bass, along with the Occidental Road Vineyard, all make it into this Cuvee. A great entry to Ceritas with its gorgeous fruit but is still surprisingly poised, mineral-laced, and savory. A beautiful Pinot Noir that shows the coastal influence and Ceritas's style flawlessly.
Antonio Galloni 90 points! "The 2018 Pinot Noir Costalina is gracious and ethereal, with lovely savory nuances that lift from the glass effortlessly. Crushed red berries, rose petal, mint, sage and bright mineral inflections give the Costalina its sculpted, vibrant feel. The 2018 is deceptive in its mid-weight feel, but it has terrific vibrancy as well as persistence. The Costalina is a blend taken from all the Sonoma Coast sites in the range, with about 20% whole clusters. A bit of air does magic for the 2018, which is already quite approachable."
