Jean-Marc Pillot comes from a long line of winemakers in Chassagne and is an excellent source for White Burgundy. The Clos Saint Marc is Pillot's specially selected parcel in the Vergers vineyard chosen for its superb location and quality of grapes. This parcel holds vines that were planted in 1910 and are enclosed by a stone wall. Clos Saint Marc is considered the gem of the Domaine and, more often than not, is the top wine Pillot. This is deep, concentrated, and powerful, with the refinement and elegance we expect from JM Pillot. 2018 is a lovely vintage for this Cuvee, and as it stands, it's one of the top-rated vintages for the Clos Saint Marc by Burghound. An incredible wine not to miss at this low pricing.
Allen Meadows 91-94 points! "This is also agreeably cool and airy with its aromas of essence of wet stone, apple compote and pretty citrus wisps. There is excellent density to the powerful and almost painfully intense larger-scaled flavors that terminate in a chiseled, palate coating and wonderfully long finish. As it usually is, this is excellent and worth a search to find."
