An unbelievable value, Francois Carillon's Bourgogne Blanc drinks like a Mini Puligny-Montrachet. It's one of the best White Burgundy deals around and a not-to-miss wine from one of our favorite Puligny winemakers. 2018 carries a little more power and ripeness than 2017, which is beautiful in a Borgogne Blanc where they can be austere at times. Francois takes his Bourgogne Blanc very seriously and treats it with the same respect as all of his other wines; after all, his name is on the label. It's one of the best buys in the category and highly recommended for all types of Chardonnay fans, and it is not often a wine at this level that receives such a high score.

Francois Carillon's Bourgogne Blanc is fantastic; from almost 60-year-old vines, the Carillons have grown grapes in Puligny Montrachet for 500 years. Francois's wines are right there with his brother Jacques in terms of quality, coming in at a slightly lower price point. We love the approachability of this Bourgogne Blanc with the appeal for the classic Burgundy drinker and the domestic one with its delicious rich character while still carrying the torch of classicism. The 2018 rendition of this wine tends to be a more powerful wine than 2017, and the wine, like many 2018's, tends to be a little riper and the finish more focused on dry extracts versus acidity. The example we just tasted was very fresh, so we feel this should age over the next two to three years with grace and a real winner at this price point!
This is a white Burgundy deal that is too good to pass up!
Decanter (Amy Wislocki) 94 points! "This is stunning, a Bourgogne Blanc from a respected producer in Puligny-Montrachet, made from two plots there. There's plenty of peachy fruit, but the first thing that comes to mind when you swirl, sniff and sip is good French butter with salt crystals. Toasty, with a suggestion of butterscotch and great salinity, it's dangerously moreish. The same wine is bottled as Corney & Barrow's own-label Bourgogne Chardonnay. (Drink between 2021-2024)"
