The first Gail wines Cabernet Sauvignon under the Doris label, the grapes are from a single vineyard in Warm Springs Region of Sonoma County, California. The vines at the Sonoma Mountain base, which is a late-ripening vineyard nestled between live oak and eucalyptus trees. Fermentation takes place in tank, is then transferred and aged in neutral oak on the lees for 20 months, and then bottled unfiltered. This is an incredible vineyard driven Cabernet Sauvignon at only $20. Aromas of Black Cassis, Plum, spice, and a touch of oak give way on the palate to this full-bodied and fairly structured Cabernet. This wine is very classic in style and could age 5 plus years no problem. The ultimate cellar saver, crowd-pleaser, and sophisticated enough to even satisfy the savvy Cabernet aficionado. This wine gets our top Domestic Cabernet value pick for 2020!
