La Chablisienne accounts for a quarter of Chablis' total production. Working with growers in the region that don't have the ability or desire to vinify or bottle their wine, La Chablisienne purchases their fruit. The growers follow a selection of rules to ensure the grapes they grow are of the best quality possible. La Chablisienne has been a central part of Chablis since 1923 and has helped the region come together, offering wines at a tremendous value. Vaulorent is the only Premier Cru vineyard located on the same hill as the Grand Cru vineyards. Bordered by Preuses and Bourgros with similar soil compositions, Vaulorent is one of the best Premier Cru vineyards in Chablis, can at times be reminiscent of Preuses, and is Decanters pick for the best Premier Cru from La Chablisienne in 2018. We love the value that La Chablisienne holds and while the market is always increasing these wines are still excellent buys.
Decanter (Tim Atkin) 94 points! "The pick of La Chablisienne's extensive array of premiers crus in 2018, this is an example of the co-operative at its best. Stylishly wooded, with an 80% stainless steel component adding considerable verve and zip, this is a bright, modern, beautifully sculpted white that has flavours of citrus, crème fraîche and nutmeg. Long and refreshing, it should age well too."
