John Gilman 92 points! "The 2018 Séchet chez Michel is another of the more forward premier crus in the cellar this year and this wine will be delicious from the outset. The nose delivers a fine blend of apple, pear, fruit blossoms, chalky soil tones and a nice topnote of beeswax. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and zesty, with lovely structure and grip, fine mid-palate depth and a long, vibrant and already quite tasty finish. This is not quite as rock solid at the core as the two Butteaux bottlings, but it is not short on stuffing and will make friends early."
Wine Advocate (William Kelley) 92 points! "Mingling notes of pear and citrus oil with hints of honeycomb and white flowers, the 2018 Chablis 1er Cru Séchets is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and incisive, with fine depth at the core, racy acids and a long, mineral finish. This has turned out very well once again."
Antonio Galloni 91-93 points! "The 2018 Chablis Séchets 1er Cru is a deep, concentrated wine built on a core of fruit intensity and structure. The Séchets is going to need at least a few years in bottle to settle down; today, it is very much closed in on itself. Time in the glass brings out a range of rich orchard fruit notes, but the 2018 is in no mood to show all of its cards just yet. I suspect it will always remain a brooding, powerhouse wine."
