This is a beautiful Pinot Noir that shows how great California Pinot Noir can be in the right hands. The whole cluster fruit helps give this wine diverse aromatics with red flowers, cranberry, blood orange, underbrush, and baking spices. While the palate has incredible energy and cut with tons of dry extract and lingering flavors of red and blue fruits, spices, and herbs. 30% whole cluster fruit, the vineyard is farmed organically but converting to Bio-dynamics, utilizing native yeast fermentation. The Pinot Noir goes through primary fermentation in tank before it is put in older French oak for 10 to 12 months with no racking so the wine can stay on the healthy lees developing complexity. A stunning small producer that is starting to gain some traction for their lovely wines, the total production for this is only 72 cases and is one of the best new Pinot's we have tried in a while. An excellent example of Pinot Noir from California that is worth trying.
