2018 Mongeard-Mugneret Grands-Echezeaux

$199.99
2018 Mongeard-Mugneret Grands-Echezeaux
We have been holding on to the last few cases of this fantastic wine just in time to offer it with its new score from WineSpectator. One of the best deals for Grand Cru Red Burgundy From the Cote de Nuits. This is not a bottle to pass up for the Burgundy Drinker at unheard of pricing for a wine of this caliber. After this, we won't be getting any more, so now is the chance to get a bottle before we run out! See our original offer below.

One of the top wines of the Domaine, the Mongeard's Grands Echezeaux, comes from vines between 40 and 70 years old. They own a reasonably large portion of the vineyard, almost 1.5 of roughly 9 hectares total, located in a prime location right in the middle of the vineyard. It is a favorite of John Gilman who has been enjoying this wine since his early days, usually giving the Grands Echezeaux 95 points. 2018 is a riper vintage, and that works very well with the Mongeard's bolder style, but is not lacking in any complexity or balance. They do exceptionally well with this vineyard, and this will be the best pricing by far for this wine or any Grands Echezeaux.

Wine Spectator 96 points! "There is latent power in this red, but also finesse and an underlying reserve. A deep well of black cherry, black currant, violet, graphite and toasty oak flavors permeate its texture. The acidity and tannins are in sync, while the long aftertaste evokes black cherry, spice and mineral elements. Best from 2024 through 2043. 100 cases imported." — BS
