Here's an off the beaten path wine, Prosecco is something we rarely offer. Nino Franco is one of the top dogs in his village, established in Valdobbiadene, just below Veneto, in 1919. In the 90s, they experimented with older clones in the vineyards and were one of the first to focus on a high-quality product, realizing that great wines start in the vineyard. The winery boasts a wide array of sparkling wines. This one, in particular, comes from a single vineyard, San Floriano, and is 100% Glera, a grape of Slovenian origin and the official Prosecco grape varietal. Rive di San Florino shows an intense array of fresh orchard fruits, peach, apple, with lime zest and white flower blossoms. The palate has lovely energy and balance with fresh fruits shining though and a surprising amount of depth. This gives Prosecco a good name and is a perfect substitute for those that try a lot of Champagne.
