We always anticipate the release of Paul Bara's Special Club Rose, and 2018 is the newest addition to this superb Cuvee. Paul Bara is one of the only producers to make a Rose accepted by the Special Club and, for years, has long been the benchmark bottle for the House. All Grand Cru Bouzy fruit, Pinot Noir driven, and with an elegance that has always been one of the best examples akin to Red Burgundy with bubbles, Paul Bara's rose is fantastic. It's a tremendous Rose and must meet a level of quality every year to be deemed Special Club making this Cuvee remarkably consistent.
2018 is another excellent rendition of this fantastic and unique cuvee sourced from vines here are around 40, the same age as the regular Special Club Cuvee. It sees a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay with the addition of Bouzy Rouge, which is so good that Bara bottles some of it on its own. After the better part of 6 years on the lees, the wine is released with a moderate dosage and explores the intricacies of the power and presence of the beautiful Bouzy Pinot Noir. Paul Bara Special Club Rose is always one to consider when considering the best grower, and we have very low pricing on this new release!
