Schiopetto is one of the oldest and best estates in Collio, a fantastic appellation for high world-class whites in Friuli in Northern Italy. The Collio 'M' or 'Il Mario' as it is known at the estate, is the tete-de-cuvée, 95% Friulano, and 5% Riesling, all aged in tank only made in the best vintages. Chock-full of minerality and bright, robust stone fruit flavors. Dry and focused, this is a serious and intense white wine. Schiopetto couldn't make a lousy vintage of this if they tried, and 2018 is another superstar bottle that rivals some of the best white wines in the world. This is perfect for fans of pure, elegant, and mineral-driven wines.
James Suckling 98 points! "Intense aromas of cherry blossom, violets and acacia with lemon grass and citrus, as well as hints of white peaches. Flint, too. Full-bodied, layered and flavorful. Extremely long and textured. Round and fine tannins. Flinty and creamy. Beautifully subtle. Drink now."
