One of the great White Burgundy producers, Vincent Dancer, is an exceptional winemaker and artist. Vincent was the first producer in Chassagne Montrachet to convert to organic, partly why his wines are so intriguing. There is a lot of complexity and play on this terroir's savory components that make Vincent's wines stand out. The village wines here are great and some of the best buys but need a bit of time to develop. Vincent has a hands-off approach in the cellar, so much so, one time when we visited him at his cellar, he said he had a barrel that has been going through Malo for over a year. His Chassagne-Montrachet comes from vines planted in '99 and is a reasonably powerful and complex wine that displays a bit of his savory trademark and precision. A rare bottle from such a small production we only have a limited amount available so act quickly if interested.
