2019 Bernard Levet Côte-Rôtie Améthyste

$49.99
2019 Bernard Levet Côte-Rôtie Améthyste
The 2019 vintage is one of the best efforts to date for this small Cote-Rotie address. Such a brilliant mix of fruit, spice, and minerals, the 2019 Améthyste is a fantastic bottle of Cote-Rotie. We are down to the last bottles of this incredible effort, and as far as Cote-Rotie goes, this is a great buy and a Cuvee our clients have enjoyed for a few years running. We have low pricing here once again, so don't miss it!

Original offer:

One of the best buys for Cote-Rotie a few years running, 2019 is another outstanding effort from this small Domaine. We have worked with the past few vintages, which have been spectacular, classic Northern Rhone examples. Levet has only has about 3.5 hectares of vines, which is extremely small but with holdings in some very revered vineyards throughout Cote-Rotie. Amethyste is one of Levet's gems, sourcing from some magnificent areas including Cote Blonde, Cote Brune, Mollard, Baleyat, and Chavaroche, made very traditionally with whole clusters and old wood. 2019 is another knock-out vintage for this small producer showing excellent fruit and minerality with depth and classic aromatics; it's a textbook example of Cote-Rotie Syrah and in the running for the best Levet has produced. We currently have the only available bottles in the USA and at very friendly pricing. This is a highly recommended bottle and has been one of the top sellers in the category the past few vintages; don't miss it!

Vinous (Josh Raynolds) 92-94 points! "Energetic black raspberry and cherry scents are complemented by hints of black pepper, smoky bacon and succulent flowers. Juicy, appealingly sweet, spice-tinged red and dark flavors show fine delineation and turn livelier with air. A zesty mineral element adds lift and nervy cut to the long, floral-driven finish, which is framed by smooth, slowly building tannins. 70% whole clusters."
