The same wine as their regular Chardonnay, which used to be priced at around $40 a few years back, Big Table Farm chose to lower the price on the Chardonnay and rebrand it as 'Wild Bee' while increasing the price on the 'Elusive Queen' Chardonnay. The Wild Bee and the Elusive Queen are the same wine, but the Elusive Queen is a selection of the five best barrels of the lot blended, while the Wild Bee is made from what is leftover. The Wild Bee has citrus, melon, peach, and flower blossom on the nose. More of a restrained domestic Chardonnay style with a Burgundian flair, outstanding balance, acidity, and good richness. One of our best buys for domestic Chardonnay, showing how good the white wines from Oregon have become. 2019 is one of the top vintages for this wine so far and a must-try for the Chardonnay lover.
