Wine Advocate (William Kelley) 92 pts! Bursting from the glass with notes of plus, sweet red berries and hints of licorice, the 2019 Mangot is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with beautifully powdery tannins and a succulent core of fruit. Giving, charming and lively, it has turned out very well. Traditional barriques are complemented by amphorae in the chai.

Wine Advocate (Lisa Perrotti Brown) 92-94+ pts! Opaque purple-black colored, the 2019 Mangot strides confidently out of the glass with ripe, expressive scents of baked plums, blueberry compote and Black Forest cake followed by suggestions of allspice, espresso, aniseed and pencil shavings. The full-bodied palate has loads of densely layered black fruit flavors intertwined with spice box and mineral accents and framed by firm, grainy tannins, finishing long and earthy with a slight touch of wood poking through.

Jeb Dunnuck 91-93 pts! There are two cuvées from Château Magot, which is located in the eastern region of Saint-Emilion. Starting with the 2019 Château Magot, this ruby/purple-colored 2019 offers a juicy bouquet of black raspberries, mulberries, spring flowers, unsmoked tobacco, and a hint of chocolaty oak. Medium-bodied, elegant, and with an incredible floral, spicy character, it has ripe yet present tannins, terrific balance, and a great finish. It should certainly be an outstanding wine, if not a true hidden gem.
