We were very impressed when we tasted this old vine village Chablis last week. The vines here are in excess of fifty years, and the wine has premier quality weight and complexity. Aromas of golden apple, minerals, saline, and white flowers jump from the glass. The palate is generous with good depth and balance and lots of dry extract of yellow fruits that coat the palate on the finish. This is a very impressive bottle of Chablis to drink over the next five years!
John Gilman 90+ points! "The 2019 Chablis “Vieilles Vignes” from Domaine Dampt Frères is a fine example of the vintage, offering up a classic nose of green apple, lemon, wet stone minerality, a dollop of beeswax and a topnote of straw. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied and nicely mineral in profile, with a lovely core, good acidity and focus and a long, complex and wide open finish. A very good example of Vieilles Vignes."
