2019 Domaine Drouhin Oregon Pinot Noir Laurène

$69.99
2019 Domaine Drouhin Oregon Pinot Noir Laurène
We have a few cases of this fantastic effort from Domaine Drouhin, Oregon. 2019 is a magnificent vintage and the best example of this Cuvee so far. One for the Old World and New World palates, the 2019 Laurène, is highly recommended.

The current release of the Cuvee Laurene from Domaine Drouhin, Oregon the 2019 is an excellent vintage for this wine. The Flagship wine of Drouin’s Oregon Domaine, Laurene, is named after the oldest Daughter of Veronique Drouhin. This is a serious wine with an uncanny nod to the Drouin’s Burgundy roots. Hand-picked estate-grown fruit, destemmed and fermented with wild yeast, and aged with minimal new oak. Easily one of the top Pinots in Oregon, displaying intense aromatics, excellent concentration, and impeccable balance. Cuvee Laurene is as classicly influenced as Pinot Noir from Oregon comes and should age very well and is an excellent bottle for both the domestic and Burgundian Pinot Noir lovers. 2019 also marks the fourth vintage that Laurene has completed by herself and is a downright incredible example of this core wine.

Wine Advocate (Erin Brooks) 96+ points! "The 2019 Pinot Noir Laurène is youthfully coiled at this stage and will take more time in bottle to unwind. It opens with flinty, rocky notes, fleshing out to blackberry, red cherry and dark, spicy undertones. The palate is silky, intense and long, with a plethora of savory accents hinting at more to come."

James Suckling 95 points! "Aromas of cherries, wild strawberries, dried flowers and spice box. Some pine needles, too. It’s medium-bodied with fine, chewy tannins and lively acidity. Layered and velvety with spicy character. Pure and balanced, following through to a long, savory finish. Solid. Drink or hold."

Jeb Dunnuck.com (Audrey Frick) 94 points! "The 2019 Pinot Noir Laurene was aged in 25% new oak and spent 14-15 months in barrel. Its aromas are more layered with cedar, pine spice, and dried cherry. The palate is concentrated and elegant, with fine tannins, notes of grenadine, dried purple flowers, espresso, and fresh acidity. Drink 2024-2034. (Drink between 2024 - 2034)"
