A beautiful and rare Bourgogne Rouge from Felettig. Since 1969 this Domaine has been making great wines from exceptional holdings in the Cote de Nuits; now, headed by Gilbert Felettig, the wines are as good as ever. The 2019s here are fantastic, and William Kelly stated in his in-depth review that 2019 is Felettigs best vintage to date. It was also the first vintage that Gilbert could put his new tanks and press to the test. The Hautes-Cotes de Nuits is excellent, and while it is typically in the past, it is an area that produced austere wines; global warming has affected it positively. They have been able to get a little riper and richer than they have in the past, making for some classic Burgundian Pinot focusing on fruit but still with an excellent sense of place. It is a seamless and structured vintage for Felettig, and the wines are concentrated and deep. This is one of the best examples of this Cuvee of all time, a great buy at the Bourgogne level, and we have the only bottles available in the USA.
