2019 Domaine Henri Perrusset Macon-Villages

$19.99
2019 Domaine Henri Perrusset Macon-Villages

For decades, the Mâconnais has been dominated by cooperative bottlings, but at the same time, Henri Perrusset has been working his vineyards by hand, reducing his yields to improve grape quality, all while offering us very reasonable prices. This Maconnais offers great value, incredible depth, and truly enjoyable complexity for an amazing price.

Tasting Notes: On the nose, the wine starts with great notes of tropical fruit and a bright freshness that really pops out of the glass. The aroma develops with notes of a creaminess and even light cheese rind. Yellow apple, pear, and white grape really round out the bouquet and open up to light, ever slightly buttery and still crisp chardonnay. The finish is long and zesty, and there is something to be found in every sip.

“Moving south, we arrive in the sunnier Maconnais, a part of Burgundy blessed with just the slightest hint of the Mediterranean’s balmy influence. Riper fruit mingles with floral charm, backed by a lively acidity and the concentrated minerality of deeply rooted vines planted in the 1940s. Perrusset excels at crafting wines that are accessible, true to their origin, and reliably delicious at a great price—that’s satisfaction guaranteed.”
