One of our favorite red selections from Girardin, the Volnay VV, is an incredible value, and we have a nice price on this bottle which typically goes for a bit more if you can find it. We tasted this recently, and it is a gorgeous bottle of Volnay sourced from 65-year-old village vines. It has a nice showing of fruit from the 2019 vintage with a bit of concentration from the vintage with the backbone and mineral tension typical of Volnay. Showing aromas of dark and red berries, liquid minerals, a savory component, some spices, and a touch of the game. The palate is vibrant with some old vine sappiness, incredible balance, ample acidity, and a lingering finish that leaves lots of red fruit behind. This is an incredible buy for 2019 at this level and is a joy to drink. These have just arrived directly from the property and are highly recommended!
