2019 Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Combes aux Moines

$109.99
2019 Faiveley Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Combes aux Moines
One of the top buys for the vintage, Faiveley has had a successful 2019, and the wines are some of the best they have made to date. Combe aux Moines from Faiveley has been a wine we have followed for years. One of their strongest premier crus, we have tried countless bottles of this wine, and it is one of our favorites for Premier Cru Burgundy without shelling out tons of money. Combe aux Moines is the same terroir as Les Cazetiers but slightly higher at 1,300 feet elevation with Fossiliferous rock and white marl soils. Vines are quite old here and have been planted in different phases in 1933, 1935, 1980, 1984, 1988, and most recently, 2017. Fairley characterizes their 2019 vintage as fresh and well-balanced, resulting from a high-quality, low-yielding crop. This vintage's red wines are seductive and aromatic with a beautiful core of fruit with an excellent level of elegance and integrated tannins for its youth, allowing it to be approached earlier. A great, classic buy for 2019 we currently have low pricing on some of the only bottles available in the USA right now.
