One of the best wines made at the Domaine in 2019, the Champ Canet from JM Boillot is terrific. While not their oldest plot in Puligny-Montrachet with vines averaging 55-60 years old, it is their smallest, totaling a mere .33 acres. Sharing the same broken limestone soils as the Perrières vineyard and located just above Les Combettes, Champ-Cannet is considered one of the great crus of Puligny. JM Boillots more illustrious style pairs perfectly with the classicism of the 2019 vintage, and while we say it often, this is one of the top Champ-Canet's ever from this address with the material to be the best of all time. Getting a bottle of Champ-Canet under $100 is a feat, but we have excellent pricing here today with one of the best buys for Puligny crus in 2019. A smart buy for the Burgundy lover, check out the nice note below by Neil Martin.
Vinous (Neil Martin) 93 points! "The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Canet 1er Cru has a very attractive nose with enticing scents of nectarine, tinned white peaches, Braeburn apples and a light chalky note. The palate is well balanced with orange pith, apricot and lychee notes on the entry. This Champ Canet has fine depth and good tension, the mouth tingling with spicy residues after it has departed. Excellent. (Drink between 2023-2036)"
