We have an insider buy today from Meursault with age. Remi Jobard made this wine, and it is the exact same as his regular label; however, this was labeled under Jobard-Chabloz for tax purposes. Part of the lineage of the great Jobard family, Remi is the son of Charles Jobard and the nephew of Francois Jobard. Like his father and uncle, winemaking is in his blood, and Remi has become an accomplished part of the family with two legendary Meursault winemakers to learn from. Taking over his father's Domaine in 1996, he acquired a slew of incredible sites, and today, we are offering the Narvaux, which comes from a .67-hectare parcel of 55-year-old vines. Seeking to improve upon his father's work, he converted to organics and became fully certified in 2011. Like his cousin Antoine, who took over for Francois Jobard, Remi looks to define the terroir of these wines inside the bottle through rigorous farming and a classical hands-off approach in the cellar. It's textbook Meursault that shows incredible purity of terroir at lower pricing than his cousin Antoine's wines, and this vintage of Narvaux is particularly elegant. This is a steal and comes in at lower pricing than the regular Remi Jobard label making it the best buy for 2019 Narvaux. This is in a great spot to enjoy now, and we have the only bottles available in the world.
Jasper Morris MW (Inside Burgundy) 90-93 points! "From 55 year old vines in the upper part of Les Narvaux-Dessous. Clear in colour with a stylish crisp bouquet, this has the hallmark of a high-class Meursault and displays perfectly the importance of persistence. I know more intense bottlings of Narvaux than this, but it is hard to beat for finesse."
