The Meursault Geneverieres from Drouhin has consistently been one of their top white premier crus over the past few years. It is a bottle that carries a high level of quality, competing with the top Meursault producers of the vintage. While not a Domaine holding, Drouhin maintains a close relationship and oversees the growing process, only accepting the best quality. 2019 is a fantastic vintage for this wine and is one of the best yet, with an excellent expression of fruit and terroir. There is a bit more elegance and freshness here than the '18s, but it still shows excellent concentration. This structured wine will have no problem aging and is a bit more classic, which our clients will enjoy. One of the rarer cuvees from Drouhin, we have low pricing on some of the only bottles available in the USA.
Vinous (Neil Martin) 92-94 points! "The 2019 Meursault Genevrières 1er Cru has a very expressive bouquet of grilled almond and walnut aromas that burst forth from the glass. The palate is vibrant on the entry, offering orange zest and apricot; yellow plum and light ginger notes surface with time. I like the finish, which brims over with tension and feels long and tender. Superb."
Allen Meadows 92 points Outstanding! "This is also aromatically cool and pure with its array of naturally exotic acacia blossom, lavender, white orchard fruit and jasmine tea nuances. The texture of the sleek and vibrant mineral-driven flavors is also sophisticated and refined though the finish is not quite as persistent as that of the Pucelles. Even so, this also offers fine development potential. A Genevrières of finesse and delicacy."
