Sourced from one of the Domaine-owned holdings they acquired a little over twenty years ago, Les Proces reaches unseen heights in the 2019 vintage. A small vineyard site for Drouhin at less than a hectare, the vines here have been farmed biodynamically since the early 90s, and now the vines are over 60 years old. Drouhin owns half of the entire vineyard, located right next to the excellent premier cru Pruliers. Drouhin had an excellent vintage in 2019 with their Domaine holdings, like the Proces coming out exceptionally good. We have a good price here on some of the only bottles available in the USA, and is another 2019 from Drouhin that is highly recommended.
Wine Advocate (William Kelley) 91-93+ points! "Aromas of cherries, cassis, dark chocolate, warm spices and sweet soil tones introduce Drouhin's 2019 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Procès (Domaine), a medium to full-bodied, layered and sapid wine that's deep and concentrated, with more muscular structure than the charming Clos des Mouches, but similar presence and penetration."
Vinous (William Kelley) 90-92 points! "The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Procès 1er Cru, from a parcel acquired in 1996, has a compact nose featuring white pepper (mostly from the 40% whole cluster) intermingling with peaty/sous-bois aromas. The medium-bodied palate offers structured and quite firm tannins and fine acidity. Quite cohesive, with a saline finish that lingers. Very fine."
