Incredible wine and one of the top bottles from Jadot in 2019, the Clos de Ursules here is always a fantastic bottle and a wine we have had countless times with great success. Sourced from Domaine fruit, Clos de Urusulles is a revered walled section within the Premier Cru Vineyard Les Vignes Franches, at the southern end of Beaune close to Pommard. Jadot owns Clos des Ursules in its entirety and is the only producer to make wine from the vineyard. 2019 is an all-time best effort here, with a lovely concentration of fruit and acidity. A fun format for this serious wine, these small bottles are rare but a perfect option for those that want to enjoy or check in on this wine without opening a whole bottle. We have some of the only 375s in the U.S., which are top buys for Red Burgundy in 2019. Don't miss them!

Louis Jadot's Beaune 1er Clos des Ursules has always been one of my favorite wines from the Cote de Beaune. I recently enjoyed my last bottle of the 1990 vintage, and it was still fresh and lively—a fantastic testament in wine-making from this rich and ripe vintage. The 2019 vintage here looks to rival the best versions of this wine ever made. Next week, we are getting our allocation and have some bottles in the rare 375ml and magnum formats. This wine will also be approachable on the earlier side due to the wine's impeccable balance but should age effortlessly for a decade or two.
Decanter 94 points! "Produced from the stony soils of the 1.23ha Clos des Ursules, located within Premier Cru Vignes Franches, bordering the Clos des Mouches on the southern reaches of the slope on the way to Pommard. The vineyard produces a dark, plummy fruit character, with a marked minerality and pleasant floral notes. The texture is silky and lush, with an approachable, tender texture and good length. Wine Advocate (William Kelley) 92-94 points! "Always one of the high points of the portfolio, the 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Clos des Ursules (Domaine des Héritiers Jadot) offers up aromas of berries and plums with hints of warm spices and orange rind, framed by a deft touch of new oak. Medium to full-bodied, round and fleshy, with elegantly muscular structuring tannins and lively acids, this will age with grace."
Allen Meadows 91-94 points! "This is also markedly reserved and requires vigorous swirling to reveal its array of cool, pure and wonderfully complex red and dark berries, earth, spice and a pretty floral whiff. There is a positively gorgeous mouthfeel to the sleek but plush flavors that manage to retain very good definition on the dusty, serious and impressively persistent finale. This is already really lovely and potentially great."
Vinous (Neal Martin) 91-93 points! "The 2018 Beaune Clos des Ursules 1er Cru has the finest bouquet out of Jadot’s Beaune Premiers, featuring copious dark cherry, crushed strawberry and blueberry aromas that are very well defined. The fleshy, rounded palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, fine acidity and a fine-boned, quite persistent and certainly elegant finish. Excellent. (Drink between 2022-2040)"
