An excellent bottle of one of the most notable crus in Savigny les Beaune, the 2019 vintage here is one of the best of all time. Sourced from old vines grown on marled limestone that overlooks Corton, Dominode is one of the prized vineyards and typically shows the best out of the other crus like Narbantons and Jarrons. Winemaker Frederic Barnier has done a tremendous job giving attention to detail throughout that vast catalog of wines Jadot makes each year, and in 2019 hit it out of the park. This beautiful Dominode stands up to the vintage's best examples, including Domaine Pavelot at a fraction of the pricing. 2019 has an excellent concentration of fruit and acidity and got Willaim Kelley saying 2019 is the best vintage he's tasted at Jadot. The 2019 Dominode is an excellent premier cru red Burgundy, and with this all-time best effort, it is not a bottle to pass up.
Wine Advocate (William Kelley) 92-94 points! "Once again one of the highlights of the range, the 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru La Dominode (Domaine Louis Jadot) wafts from the glass with notes of cassis, plums, dark chocolate, loamy soil and spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered, it's elegantly muscular, with fine depth and lively acids."
