The wines from Jasmin are nothing short of extraordinary and are available at pricing far below many of the great producers of Cote-Rotie. We are down to the last bottles of this fantastic effort which is one of the best buys for Cote-Rotie in 2019 and one of the top examples ever from Jasmin. The previous few vintages of Jasmin have been outstanding, and this is no different. A classic bottle of Cote-Rotie that is not to miss at this low pricing.
The wines from Jasmin have started to gain traction over the past few years as one of the best buys in Cote-Rotie. Fourth-generation Cote-Rotie winemaker, the Jasmin Domaine, dates back to 1910 and was one of the first Domaines in Cote-Rotie to bottle their own production. Patrick took over his family's historic Domaine in 1999 after the unexpected passing of his father. Though Patrick was a professional go-kart racer at the time, wine was a fundamental part of his life, and having grown up with a family winery, the transition was natural. Patrick answered the call proudly, making a respectable Cote-Rotie in his inaugural vintage.
Jasmin's Cote-Rotie is a blend of eight of the domains Lieu dit's comprised of 95% Syrah and 5% Viognier coming from vines planted in the 1960s, which bring tremendous depth and concentration to the wine. We tasted at Jasmin years ago, and it remains one of our favorite Cote-Rotie's. When the price is factored in, it is unbeatable, and 2019 should be a superb example seeing how excellent the vintage is overall. This is one of the first shots for this wine in the USA, and we have the only bottles available right now at lower pricing than the '18s.
