2019 The Eyrie Vineyards Pinot Noir Sisters Vineyard

$49.99
2019 The Eyrie Vineyards Pinot Noir Sisters Vineyard
This is a gorgeous bottle of Classic Pinot Noir. So elegant and refined, it reminds us of a great Chambolle Musigny from Burgundy. For the price, this wine is one of the best values in the USA for Pinot Noir—our last bottles in stock. Don't miss it!

The 2019s from Eyrie are excellent, and we have another new release from this great vintage. The Eyrie Sisters Vineyard is an understated Pinot Noir from one of Oregon's finest Pinot Noir producers. Organically farmed like all the Eyrie vineyards, this is a twenty-acre parcel located east of their other vineyard sites. This parcel was planted originally in 1989 and is named after the three Pinot sisters; Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris. The soil here is 50% volcanic and 50% marine sedimentary soils. It is also Eyrie's experimental farm with eight different varieties planted, along with the youngest block being used for rootstock, as Jason continues replanting his vineyards due to phylloxera.
The 2019 is simply beautiful and is a very elegant example from Eyrie with lovely aromas of red fruits, red flowers, blood orange, underbrush, spice, and minerals. The palate is supple and elegant, with lingering notes of red fruits, earth, and spice dominating the long and seductive finish. This is a classic and gorgeous iteration of the Three Sisters Vineyard and is one of the best so far. A very elegant and classic pinot that fans of Burgundy should enjoy, but it also has excellent fruit for the new world palates. We have a limited amount at this friendly pricing, and it's another not to miss wine from Eyrie this vintage.

Wine Advocate (Erin Brooks) 96 pts! "Medium ruby, the 2019 Pinot Noir Sisters has a delicate perfume of raspberries, rhubarb, tar, orange peel and tea leaves with touches of flint. The light-bodied palate is powdery and fresh with fragrant floral character and a long finish."
