We have a bit more of this 2020 Bourgogne Blanc on the way from Anne Boisson and the Boisson family. These are still the only bottles of 2020 available in the USA, and we are able to offer them at lower pricing than the 2019s. With Bourgogne Blanc pricing continually climbing, it is nice to find great buys that mirror the quality of the top addresses.
We were able to get special spicing on this excellent 2020 White Burgundy from Anne Boisson. Anne is the Daughter of Bernard Boisson and sister to Pierre Boisson, both of whom we have offered wines from in the past. The Boissons have been in Meursault for almost two centuries and though the production is small and mainly focused on village-level wines, they are classic and genuine expressions of this stunning terroir made possible by their selection of old vines.
Pierre Boisson, Anne Boisson, and Boisson Vadot all work together in the same cellar and follow the family 'style'. While the Bourgogne Blanc from Pierre and Anne are identical, the two bottle their own set of crus from the family vines, with Anne bottling their old plot of Meursault Genevrieres planted in 1975 and Pierre bottling most of the Lieu Dits and reds. Years ago, it was an insider's secret that the Boisson's were friends with the Coche's and that the Boisson wines little more than resembled their more famous neighbors. We have their go-to Bourgogne Blanc at lower pricing than the '19s, and it is one of our favorite buys for the category.
