Duplessis has been working in Chablis for five generations and is now under Lilian Duplessis' authority, who took over for his father, Gerard, in 1999. This small 8 Hectare Domaine is entirely organic and biodynamic, and significant effort is put into making the best wines possible with extensive work in the vineyards for healthy fruit. The 2020s here are the best to date, and Les Clos is one of the top wines of the vintage from Duplessis. As Jasper Morris notes below, this has the potential to become magnificent in time and reach the higher end of his score. We were able to get a few more bottles at a better price than our last offer, and these are still the only bottles of 2020 available in the USA and is a rare wine not to miss for the Chablis lover.
Jasper Morris 92-95 points! "A similar vibrant pale primrose. Perhaps a little bit more oak here, certainly shows on the nose, this is backward and still not yet in place. Good acidity, a firm tannic background, undeveloped fruit, and not yet in harmony. But I expect it to get there, so the 2020 les Clos may earn the higher end of the rating in due course."
