2020 Domaine Camus-Bruchon & Fils Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Gravains

$44.99
2020 Domaine Camus-Bruchon & Fils Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Gravains
John Gilman 94 pts!  Guillaume noted that he used just a touch more new oak this year for the Gravains than he did for the Lavières, simply due to the number of casks he had of each wine. The soils here are more chalky and white clay than the volcanic soils of Lavières, with plenty of gravel in the Camus-Bruchon parcels, so the wine is always a touch more reserved out of the blocks than the Lavières. The 2020 shows excellent potential, with the bouquet delivering scents of red and black cherries, plummy fruit tones, a touch of pomegranate, raw cocoa, a fine base of soil, cloves and cedary oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and again, beautifully sappy at the core, with fine soil inflection, tangy acids, ripe tannins and a long, complex and very, very promising finish. Fine, fine Savigny in the making. (Drink between 2035 - 2090)
