This is the last of the great 2020 Camus Bruchon Savigny-les-Beaunes we have in stock. This wine is not slouch and is the best effort from this vineyard we have ever tasted. The vines here are over ninety years old. The vineyard comprises Chalky Limestone and Clay and is farmed sustainably. Indigenous yeasts are employed in the cellar, and s small percentage of new oak is used. The aromatics are stunning, with red cherry, red berry notes, liquid minerals, garrigue, and red flowers. The wine stains the palate with loads of mid-spectrum fruits yet has a wonderful lift from the well-integrated acidity. If you love classic Pinot Noir, you will love this wine. EFW 92+
John Gilman 92 pts! "The 2020 Pimentiers old vine bottling was raised in fifteen percent new oak this year, with an additional fifteen percent “one wine” barrels and the rest considerably older. The wine is beautiful, showing superb precision on the nose as it jumps from the glass in a mix of cherries, red plums, just a hint of currant, dark soil tones, a fine array of spices, woodsmoke and a nice framing of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and shows off excellent mid-palate depth of sappy red fruit, stony minerality, ripe tannins and a long, well-balanced and very promising, complex finish. (Drink between 2030 - 2075)"
