This sizeable Domaine in Meursault has continued to be an excellent buy for the money, and we have the new release of one of their top crus of the vintage. With new owners and a large cash infusion a few years back, the quality jumped to the world-class level through replacing the old wine-making equipment, cutting yields in half, and practicing sustainable farming. We typically offer the Meursault Charmes Dessus from this address, but the Meursault Perriers is one of the gems of this Domaine, especially at this pricing. Chateau de Meursaults Perriers is sourced from 1.12 hectares divided into two plots situated in a prime location smack in the middle of the vineyard, always harvested by hand. One plot was planted in 1995 and the other in 2000, both situated on hard Jurassic Limestone, and are vinified separately to find the optimal balance of the wine blending only the best barrels by the cellar master at the end. 2020 is shaping up to be an incredible vintage for Burgundy and is one of the top examples of the Perriers of all time. We have low pricing here today, and with some previous vintages hitting the high $100s and into the $200 range, this should be an excellent price when more bottles hit the market. We have the only bottles of the 2020 vintage right now, and based on the review below, it should be a stunning bottle.
Jasper Morris 93-95 points! "Fine pale primrose. A powerful concentration of fruit on the nose, plus a little gunflint. There is a different level of volume here compared to the Meursault Charmes, some ripe plums, stopping short of peaches, excellent mineral grip behind, and pleasingly long."
