2020 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir$109.99
Jasper Morris 93-96 pts! Gorgeous crystal clear pale lemon. Sunshine to the nose, in a good way. But such purity and elegance that it can handle the sunshine, stretches out to an impeccably balanced finish. The William Fèvre holding is on the sunny side of the valley, while a yield of just 35 hl/ha explains the additional intensity. Some spices at the back.
John Gilman 94+ pts! Domaine Fèvre’s 2020 Vaudésir is another beautiful bottle in the making, but this is more reserved in personality out of the blocks than the Bougros and will demand a bit more cellaring before it starts to stir. The aromatic constellation is precise and minerally, offering up scents of apple, pear, lime peel, a beautiful base of chalky soil tones, dried flowers and a touch of straw in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and racy, with a rock solid core of fruit, impeccable balance and grip, lovely mineral drive and a long, focused and very promising finish.
