This is sourced from a 1.2-hectare single vineyard in the Serralunga d'Alba commune, known for its calcareous soils that yield structured, age-worthy Nebbiolo. Guido Porro's family has been crafting wine in this region since the early 20th century, with Guido himself continuing traditional winemaking practices such as spontaneous fermentation and aging in large Slavonian oak casks to preserve varietal purity and terroir expression. The 2020 vintage benefited from a warm growing season with timely rainfall, producing balanced wines with ripe tannins and vibrant acidity. This is one of the best efforts ever from Guido Poro, and it will be approachable on the early side, so drinking now is no problem. At this pricing, it is a top buy for the category, and we have a limited amount due to arrive next week.

I really enjoy the freshness of these wines, which offer ripe acidity balanced with elegant concentration of fruit. A medium-framed wine, it has good length and a refreshing and approachable feel, with notes of apricot on the finish and only a touch of warmth.
