2020 Henri Boillot Bourgogne Blanc

$44.99
2020 Henri Boillot Bourgogne Blanc
Henri Boillot is one of the top producers in Mersault and has made some of the region's most impressive wines over the years. Now a father and son operation with Henri devoted to the white wines and his son Guillaume overseeing the reds. The Corton Charlemagne is typically one of the best grand cru examples from Henri Boillot annually. While it is not a Domaine holding, it is a wine that they have continued to make with great success from excellent growing partnerships that they purchase grapes from for many years.
The 2020s from Henri Boillot are exceptional, and the full range saw some of its best efforts ever. The Bourgogne Blanc, this vintage, as noted below by Charles Curtice, is one of the best values of the year and is an exceptional wine sourced from grapes in the villages of Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint Romain, and Auxey-Duresses from parcels planted on similar soil types of clay and limestone. Fresh with ample richness and acidity, it shows some impressive complexity at this level and is one of the best Bourgogne Blancs from Boillot in recent memory. This is an outstanding Bourgogne Blanc, and these bottles are due to arrive later this month.

Decanter (Charles Curtice) MW 93 pts! "This is one of the year's best value wines, with bright, lemony fruit and fresh floral notes, uncomplicated by heavy oak spice since no new casks were used in the fermentation. Although this is produced from purchased grapes and must, it receives the same care as the domaine-bottled selections. Surprisingly light and fresh for the vintage, the Boillot Bourgogne Blanc provides plenty of crisp, refreshing pleasure at a remarkably accessible price point. (Drink between 2022 - 2030)"
