2021 Cave des Vins de Sancerre Les Tuilières

$18.99
2021 Cave des Vins de Sancerre Les Tuilières
This is an excellent buy for Sauvignon Blanc that mirrors the quality of a Sancerre. Caves de Sancerre is a group of wine-makers and vineyard owners that comprises 3,000 hectares of vines in the Loire Valley of France. The beauty of this wine comes from the three types of soil that Sauvignon Blanc is grown on in the Loire Valley. Terres blanches (white earth), caillottes (little stones), and siliceous clay with vines grown right outside the Sancerre designation zone. This wine is better than many Sanceres we have tasted, and the 2021 vintage is a return to a more classic style due to the lower yields and cooler temperatures. The aromatics here are profound, with notes of quince, gooseberry, wet stones, and a touch of dry herbs. The palate is fresh and lively with good focus, lovely minerality, some dry extract, and a reasonably exuberant finish. For the money, this is a no-brainer and the perfect summer sipper to start off your evening with at a price everyone can afford!
