2021 La Ca' Növa Barbaresco Eta 10-25-2024

$39.99
2021 La Ca' Növa Barbaresco Eta 10-25-2024

The wines of Ca'Nova account for some of the best buys in Barbaresco and have been some of the most impressive examples over the years, especially for the price. Though it has been a while since we have been able to offer these wines, we have a bit of the new Barbaresco, which is a contender for the best Barbaresco Normale ever from La Ca' Nova. 2021 is a magnificent vintage for this estate, and Barbaresco is one of the best deals coming out of Piedmont. The operation is run by two hard-working brothers giving their all to make great wine. Many years ago, we visited with the winemaker during the summer and appreciated the old-school production. Ca'Nova uses traditional techniques and minimal technology in its winemaking, creating classic and genuine expressions of both Nebbiolo and the Barbaresco, which could be seen as the younger sibling to the two crus here, Montestefano and Montifico. This one has it all, with its brilliant fruit, sense of place, and tremendous energy. It's going to be one of the top vintage buys, and it is not a wine to miss from La Ca' Nova.

Antonio Galloni 94 points! " The 2021 Barbaresco is exquisite. Bright and delineated, with tons of energy, the 2021 bristles with saline-infused energy. Red berry fruit, blood orange, chalk, mint and white pepper lend tons of energy to this deceptively mid-weight, nervy young Barbaresco. Vineyard sites are Ovello, Cole and Loreto. (Drink between 2026-2041)"
