2022 Domaine de Marquiliani Corse Le rosé de Pauline

$29.99
2022 Domaine de Marquiliani Corse Le rosé de Pauline
One of our favorite Rosés, the Rosé de Pauline, is a beautiful wine and one of the best examples not just produced on the Island of Corsica but in all of France. Made with revitalized vineyards of lost varietals, this is a unique and elegant Rosé with excellent balance and complexity. We were able to get a few more cases here at our original pricing, and when paired with a nice summer day and some snacks, this is one of the ultimate buys in the category.

One of our client's favorite Rosés next to Tempier, Marquiliani's Rosés, are exceptional and among the best examples. This is an annual Rosé offer for us, and the 2022 has just been released from the village of Aghione on the island of Corsica. Marquiliani is based in a 200-year-old winery that was burned down and abandoned until the Amalric family (current owners)revitalized the Domaine planting a few indigenous Italian varietals that are mainly grown on Corsica along with Syrah. All the vines used for these two cuvees were originally planted in 1964 and are still in use today.
The Pauline Rosé is a blend of mostly Sciaccarellu (50%), an indigenous varietal, 40% Syrah, and 10% Vermentino. The Syrah for this Cuvee is from select parcels and undergoes a slow fermentation with a blocked malolactic fermentation giving, adding a level of surprising complexity.
This is one of the best at this price point, and over the past couple of years, they have become more tightly allocated, making it all the more desirable. The 2022s are another excellent vintage for these wines, and we received a small allocation this year, so please act quickly!
