2022 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Séchets

$44.99
2022 Domaine Louis Michel Chablis 1er Cru Séchets

We have a limited amount of 2022 Sechets from Louis Michel at this great price. The rarest of Louis Michels 1er crus, before 2010, Sechet was vinified with the Domaine's bottling of Vaillons, but winemaker Guillaume Michel saw potential in this individual site and decided to bottle it on its own, making the product very limited. The vines are over 30 years old, and like all of the Louis Michel wines, they are made with natural yeast in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and vineyard character. Its aromatics, complexity, richness, and precise minerality make it an excellent Premier Cru for cellaring. The 2022 Sechet is impressive and one of the best vintages so far for this cuvee. This captures the vintage and the precise expression of the vineyard with excellent ripeness, which will allow for it to be approached early but with the classic structure to spend years in the cellar. This is a contender for the top premier cru this vintage from Louis Michel this vintage and is a rare find not to miss from this great address!

Vinous (Neil Martin) 92-94 points! "The 2022 Chablis Séchets 1er Cru has a lovely bouquet with orange blossom plus touches of beeswax that gains intensity with aeration. The palate is well-balanced, with a lightly spiced entry and fine depth. It is quite saline in the mouth, with a slice of sour lemon lending tension towards the finish. One of Louis Michel's more complex and intellectual Premier Crus this year. (Drink between 2025-2038)"

Burghound 91-93 points! " A restrained if vaguely exotic nose grudgingly offers up its aromas of white peach, citrus confit, lychee and quinine. There is fine intensity to the equally well-detailed and even more mineral-driven middleweight flavors that exhibit very good persistence on the balanced and nicely dry finale. This highly refreshing effort could use better depth so again, a few years of keeping should prove beneficial."

Decanter (Andy Howard MW) 92 points! "Forward white flowers and peach on the palate. A very classy example with a generous mouthfeel and fine acidity. Lots going on here. Mineral at the end, this has a sunny style which will have very wide appeal. (Drink between 2025-2030)"
