2022 Domaine / Maison Vincent Girardin Bourgogne Blanc Cuvée Saint-Vincent

$29.99
2022 Domaine / Maison Vincent Girardin Bourgogne Blanc Cuvée Saint-Vincent

The 2022 vintage for white Burgundy is excellent, and this is another excellent example from Girardin, which is the best of all time. The 2022 Vincent Girardin Bourgogne Blanc St. Vincent is a Chardonnay sourced from various small vineyards in the Côte de Beaune, averaging 35 years old. Vincent Girardin, who founded his winery in 1980, emphasized sustainable viticulture and low-intervention winemaking; this ethos continues under the guidance of the team following his 2012 retirement, appointing Eric Germain as winemaker. The 2022 vintage in Burgundy, as we have mentioned before, was a warm growing season, resulting in ripe fruit with good concentration while retaining excellent acidity. Fermentation was conducted in a mix of stainless steel and oak barrels, followed by aging in oak (approximately 15% new) for 10-12 months to enhance the wine without overpowering it. This wine is one of the top values of the vintage and a worthy part of Girardin's focus on terroir expression and accessibility within Burgundy's complex hierarchy.
