2022 E. Guigal Condrieu La Doriane

$79.99
2022 E. Guigal Condrieu La Doriane
Another very promising new release from the masters of Cote-Rotie, Guigal is recognized as one of the greatest producers in the Northern Rhone, crafting some of the best wines the region has ever seen with sought-after holdings in La Landonne, La Mouline, and La Turque. Equally as good is their Condrieu, which is one of the premier examples made in the Rhone, sourced from 5 different Viognier plots spread throughout the appellation, each from a unique soil type, and are said to be some of the most legendary parcels Guigal owns. The different exposures, climates, and soil types add a ton of complexity and depth to the final blend. The vines average 35 years old, are always hand-harvested and vinified, and aged in new oak. It is truly one of the most incredible and consistent high-end white wines out of France for under 100 dollars and 2022 is another very promising vintage for La Doriane.
Though it was a warm vintage, this wine does very well with the warmer weather and tends to perform very well in hotter vintages, and the quality of fruit this vintage is said to be high despite the weather. This should drink great right out of the gates, and right now, we have low pricing on some of the only bottles available in the USA.
